Vitality Counselling Halifax
Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Low Mood, Family/Relationship Struggles. All of these are a common part of the human experience.
Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, explore what is happening and develop the tools and understanding needed to move toward the life you want to live. I can help you sort through it all.
My Practice
My practice is rooted in trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based approaches to counselling.
Individual Therapy
Reaching out for support can feel intimidating. If you're feeling uncertain, nervous, or wondering whether your struggles are "serious enough" for therapy, you're not alone. The truth is, you don't need to be in crisis to benefit from support. Therapy can provide a space to pause, reflect, and focus on your well-being. It takes courage to reach out, and that first step is often the hardest one. My goal is to make the process feel as comfortable and welcoming as possible. You don't need to have everything figured out before contacting me. We can start exactly where you are.
Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy, and strengths-based practice, I tailor therapy to meet each client's unique needs and goals. I recognize that experiences such as trauma, culture, identity, family history, and systemic barriers can shape how we experience the world and ourselves.
Relationship / Family Therapy
Seeking support is not a sign that a relationship is failing—it is often a sign that both partners are committed to growth. Relationship therapy can help when couples are in crisis. It can also help couples seeking support to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, prepare for major life changes, or deepen their connection. My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental environment where both partners feel heard, understood, and valued.
Parenting is rewarding, meaningful, and often incredibly hard. Many parents find themselves feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, questioning their decisions, or struggling to navigate challenging behaviours, emotional outbursts, family conflict, or the ever-changing needs of their children and teens. My approach to family therapy focuses on strengthening relationships, improving communication, and helping families better understand one another. I provide support for parents and families who are looking for practical strategies, guidance, and a space to talk openly about the challenges they are facing.
